Music is a huge part of my life. Music expresses where words fail. Music clears the mind.
Music speaks when there is nothing left to say.
Music fills the silence.
I have a habit of getting into one song and listening to it on repeat for weeks at a time. Whatever song it is, somehow it speaks to me, calms me, and helps me feel sane. There are sometimes playlists of 4-5 songs that I will do the same with. I can't always explain why certain songs feel like a comfort. Recently I have been on a Sia kick. I I absolutely love all of her music, especially her newest album A Thousand Forms of Fear. I have been listening to it for about 1 1/2 months. The song "elastic heart" has a certain feeling of serenity.
And another one bites the dust
Oh why can I not conquer love
And I might have thought that we were one
Wanted to fight this war without weapons
And I wanted it, I wanted it bad
but there were so many red flags
now another one bites the dust
Yeah lets be clear I trust no one
You did not break me, I'm still fighting for peace.
I've got thick skin and an elastic heart, but your blade it my be to sharp. I"m like a rubberband until you pull too hard. I may snap and I move fast. But you won't see me fall apart.
I've got an elastic heart.
"Music is the shorthand of emotion." - Leo Tolstoy
